We've redesigned CORE to be a 13-week program that guides individuals of all ages from anywhere in the world through the entire Adventist message. Seamlessly integrating the principles of mental health and righteousness by faith. Elevate your spiritual journey and enhance your professional and educational pursuits with the option to extend your experience through a uniquely rewarding 6-month internship.

Join us in exploring the Gospel, engaging in ministry opportunities, and advancing both personal and professional skills and education.

The CORE Program:

Classes:

In our 13-week program, you will still receive nearly the same number of class hours as our previous format! With 230 hours of top tier content, you will be well equipped to teach, train, and create once you leave CORE. Our 13-week program still offers you a solid foundation on the complete study of the Adventist message with CORE’s unique emphasis on seeing Jesus at the heart of every teaching and the blending of the Gospel and mental health.

Classes cover areas of study in:

  • Adventist fundamental beliefs

  • Understanding the prophetic books of Daniel and Revelation

  • The sanctuary

  • Righteousness by faith and practical life application

  • How we got the Bible and how to study it

  • Mental health and mental health coaching

  • Local church ministry

  • Public evangelism

  • Bible work

  • Literature evangelism

  • Preaching

  • Health evangelism

  • Work / life balance and self care

  • Finances and business in ministry

  • Relationships, sexuality, and marriage

Each class is taught by experts and professionals in their field of ministry. You can expect each class to edify, inform and guide you to living a Biblical lifestyle and soul winning ministry anywhere.

Practicum:

We believe in a hands on approach. You’ll be out of the classroom as well, learning how to share your faith and serve your community. This is a safe place for trial and error. During the 13-week program the students will have nearly 150 hours worth of field time practicing what they have learned.

CORE Practicum includes:

  • Door to door witnessing

  • Literature evangelism

  • Giving personal Bible studies

  • Preaching

  • Teaching Sabbath School

  • Meeting practical needs in the community

  • Planning and running a full length evangelistic series

  • Other practical opportunities

By the conclusion of the program students will feel more confident in their ability to communicate truth and to be a solid contributing member of their local church.

Certifications:

Upon completion of the CORE program students will receive a certificate of completion that correlates to their achievements and can be used to communicate their abilities in leadership, spirituality, and usefulness in church ministry. Our certification is recognizable by many ministries and can be used as a strong recommendation in any resume for leadership skills and much more. Your CORE certification can be used for college credit hours at certain Adventist universities / institutions.

We’ve added in all classwork for the Mental Health Coach certificate with the Abide Network. Students must complete the supervised hours and any other assignments provided by the Abide Network to receive the certification.

Students can also receive additional certification by completing the post graduate internship program.

Internship:

We are so excited to now be able to offer a way for our students to better discover and follow through with their next steps upon graduation through our unique post graduate internship program. We are building partnerships with ministries, businesses, non-profits, and organizations all over the U.S. and abroad where students can continue their professional development while still receiving discipleship from our staff here at CORE. 

Internships are available in these fields:

  • Agriculture

  • Medical missionary work

  • Centers of influence

  • Cross cultural ministry

  • Bible work

  • Foreign missions

  • Literature evangelism

  • Public campus ministry

  • Culinary and restaurant service

  • Pastoral ministry

Upon graduation students will have the potential to apply for an additional 6-month internship with supporting organizations/institutions to further their professional development and gain deeper knowledge in some specialized area of ministry. Students will still receive weekly discipleship through online meetings with our staff and their cohort to see how they are growing, help them work through any challenges, give continuing education assignments, etc.

For those who want to go back to school, return to their career, or move on to other passion projects and forego the internship, you can still complete your 13-week discipleship experience and bring those newly discovered gifts with you into your next phase of life.

Each of our teachers are hand picked for their Gospel-centered ministry and skill in specific areas of theology, ministry, mental health, relationships, and medical professions.

Teachers at CORE provide mentorship, are available for questions, and provide networking opportunities as you move into ministry.

FAQs

Where will I stay?

Our program is located on the same campus as Blue Mountain Academy in beautiful Hamburg, Pennsylvania. Our students stay in the dormitories on site.

What if my tribe doesn’t support me spending this time with God?

Sometimes it’s hard for people to catch the vision for where God is leading you and they can be afraid that the security of other options like employment or education may be overlooked. It’s not uncommon, but we have seen that every student who has come has been very glad that they did and their family and support system usually see God’s hand in it as well. Setting aside time to grow closer to God and to discover your spiritual gifts is never a waste of time. It actually sets you up for a lifetime of usefulness. Are food costs included?

Yes! Built in to your tuition is the cost of all of the meals you will need while being part of the program. Blue Mountain Academy has a cafeteria that is run by a professional food service company and they make delicious vegetarian and vegan food for the whole campus.

What are my transportation options?

If you are not bringing a vehicle to CORE we have vans that can take students to get essential items at Walmart (5 minute drive) on Fridays when needed. Plus other students who attend and do bring vehicles are usually making these types of trips as well and offer for other students to join them. Either of these options will provide for all of the needed transportation while here at CORE.

Are scholarships available?

Each year our worthy student fund fluctuates based on what donations come for that purpose. We distribute those funds according to the greatest needs and responsibility level of the students and their attempts to meet their tuition requirements. We also provide all accepted students with a fundraising letter that they can share with their family, friends, church, co-workers, etc. This proves to be very helpful when students take it seriously and share it diligently.

What are my options post graduation?

Students upon completion of the program can resume their studies and careers or they can pursue new opportunities with the gifts and knowledge they have received at CORE. Every year we get calls from ministries around the country and world who are looking for our graduates to work for them. We also have started a post graduate internship program where students can continue their professional development in specific fields of ministry, or business, and at the same time receive continued discipleship from our staff for 6-months.
